While on the Communications and Outreach team at S&T, I was tasked with the creation of a new challenge coin to represent the Directorate. The previous version was dated, and didn’t align with the mission and priorities that now drove the department. In partnership with Julie Moretti, who designed the seal side of the coin, I created the back design with an icon set that illustrated the broad range of industries that S&T operates within.

After the coin was minted and delivered, then-Undersecretary Dimitri Kusnezov presented one to Vice President Kamala Harris. VP Harris said she was honored to receive it and complimented the design, and boy is that an email I wish I saved.
